Stages of Pregnancy
The more you know about your pregnancy, the better you’ll be able to prepare for your child. No matter how helpful your friends and family have been, there will always be additional points that you can learn about your own pregnancy and upcoming parenthood. Having a child may be one of the most wonderful parts of anyone’s life, but with this situation comes immense responsibility. But you can take on these immense responsibilities with pertinent resources regarding childbirth, pregnancy and parenthood. One of the most important and fundamental areas to learn about is the stages of pregnancy. By learning about these stages, you’ll be able to prepare your body and mind and make way for a happy and healthy baby.
The stages of pregnancy are divided up into three major periods of development known as trimesters. Each of these stages is three months long. The first trimester is considered to start at conception and then leads the mother into her first 12 weeks. This period is sometimes considered the most challenging for first-time mothers simply because expecting mothers experience factors they’ve never gone through before. For example, mothers in their first trimester will experience hormonal changes which cause frequent nausea, vomiting, increased fatigue and increased emotional sensitivity (which also makes it one of the more challenging periods for the male in the relationship).
The stages of pregnancy then take the mother into her second trimester where the baby will experience rapid growth. This part is very exciting for expecting parents to witness on sonograms. This period is where mothers should really start getting into light exercise and drinking ample amounts of water.
The third trimester will reveal significant changes in the baby’s physical appearance. This period requires mothers to rest often, exercise lightly and maintain an especially healthy diet.
